A. H. Jerriod Avant is a poet and photographer from Longtown, Mississippi. Jerriod is an Affrilachian Poet, an alumnus of the Callaloo Creative Writing Workshop at Brown University and a 2013 & 2014 Pushcart Nominee. His poems or photographs appear in The Louisville Review, PLUCK!, Madcap Review, Catch & Release, The Rumpus, Callaloo & H_NGM_N. Jerriod is currently an MFA candidate and Writer in the Public Schools Fellow at New York University. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
