Aphelion

picked up a new habit
finding moon rocks and meteorites
where they fall, eating them
i bite off shards, keep them
between my tongue and teeth
all day, rolling them smooth
my mouth tastes silver
moths burst from ice rings
what i might say is in the ether
drinking deep space
i'm zeroed in, there's that
beat and star points melt
the universe rotates
i can't get off of my spin either
taste circles like sea glass
lose the weight of these fragments
i can wake up with you
on the beach again, taste salt
sand in my hair, freeze
in morning wind off the ocean
i see you in the sun
out there, i know if i lie down
next to you on a night like this
or any other, it'll come back
